Senior Manager, Retail Energy Supply

A key Optimus client is seeking a fully remote senior manager with management expertise to oversee the organization's duties for commodity risk management, hedging, and wholesale and retail energy operations.
The ideal applicant will have an in-depth understanding of the energy industry, including the wholesale and retail energy markets, commodities risk management, and hedging techniques.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
oManage the daily activities of the functions of Commodity Risk Management, Hedging, and Wholesale & Retail Energy Operations.
oCreate and implement efficient plans for handling commodities risks and hedging actions.
oExamine market trends to find chances to optimize energy portfolios while lowering risks.
oDevelop trusting connections with important parties, including suppliers, brokers, and traders of energy.
oOffer direction and support to team members, making sure they have the tools and instruction they need to succeed.
oWork together with cross-functional teams to make sure that plans and goals are in sync.
oAssist the marketing team in matching their initiatives with available hedging strategies.
oWhen necessary, work with the legal team to draft contract language that is specific to a given customer.
oCreate and implement business strategies and plans in collaboration with top management.
oReport critical performance metrics, risks, and opportunities on a regular basis to top management.
Explain profit and loss in relation to the retail portfolio and help with variance justifications.
Qualifications:
oBachelor's degree (graduate degree preferable) in a quantitative subject such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, quantitative finance, or business.
o10
years of experience in the retail energy industry in energy operations, commodities risk management, portfolio optimization, and hedging.
oPowerful analytical capabilities for gathering, examining, and interpreting complex market data.
oExpertise in deal structuring, risk assessment, and retail pricing analysis.
oA thorough knowledge of the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic gas markets, as well as the Power ISO markets (ERCOT and PJM).
oProficient Excel skills, including understanding of VBA and SQL.
Python proficiency is a plus.
oStrong interpersonal and communication skills, able to establish and develop long-lasting connections with stakeholders across all organizational levels.
oWhile having expertise of energy trading, risk management, and hedging methods, you should also have experience working with cross-functional teams and managing many priorities at once.
