Continental US CACI is looking for an experienced and talented Space Vehicle Flight Software Development Engineer with human-rated spacecraft expertise to work within the NASA / Johnson Space Center community on the Orion Program. This is a highly stimulating and dynamic environment that is critical in human space flight and the space exploration initiative. What You'll Get to Do:
This software engineering position involves flight software development and verification in an object-oriented environment. Work is performed in a rigorous Agile Sprint team environment. Expertise is specifically sought in the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) and Displays and Controls (DAC) vehicle system domains. This position requires a self-motivated, capable person with strong verbal and written communication skills. In addition to outstanding technical expertise, the individual must be very people savvy, have strong customer relationship skills, possess a positive team-player attitude, be flexible and willing to take on new assignments and responsibilities as they arise. Finally, the most qualified candidate will be an articulate speaker able to communicate complex technical ideas in a convincing manner, must share our passion for our Nation's Space Program, and share in the excitement of developing future human-rated space vehicles.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop Orion C+
flight software using Rhapsody. Perform integration testing of Orion flight software in a lab environment. Develop, execute, and replicate test cases and detailed procedures to be executed in lab and virtual environments for both dry runs and formal testing with traceability to requirements. Collaborate with other system and subsystem flight software areas, such as Service Module, data definition, and other domains. Track requirements to design, code, and verification test cases. Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines required. At least five years' software development and verification experience using C+
in an object-oriented environment. Python development skills, particularly in a software test environment. Experience with development in Linux and Windows OS environments Evidence of success in highly collaborative projects/environments. Ability to succeed in fast-paced environments. Must be flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment. Possess technical expertise combined with verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision. Must be a responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic. Must have well developed coordination and organization skills. These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines. Spacecraft GNC experience. Spacecraft DAC experience. Experience with human-rated space vehicle software, e.g., Space Shuttle, International Space Station, Commercial Crew Program, is valued. Experience on the Orion Program is particularly valuable. Software development experience in an Agile environment. Java development experience. OpenGL experience. DOORS (or similar requirements management tool) experience . Experience in full life cycle of human-rated flight projects. Experience with Greenhills Integrity 178-B tuMP (MP = Multi Processor) RTOS development and UML modeling using Rhapsody.
